How inspiring! I hope to go out gardening. Preferably while drinking lemonade in the shade after a day of gardening. Can I put in my order now? In about 40 years...

i am doubly honored.... by johanna's telling and your wonderful words.

did johanna tell you that when she was younger and still living at home, we used to have a very productive vegetable garden and averaged 500 quarts of vegetables per summer?

we still have and use a compost box (home built) and raise tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and melons?

again.... thank you for the wonderful honoring
of my mother-in-law!

While I fully accept that wearing garden gloves may indeed be an act of vanity, Gramma did teach me well. I love dirt. I am at home in dirt. Dirt is full of life...
I can't thank you enough for honoring her with your beautifully crafted words!

Dang. Forgot about the solar oven.

Generally, I go for C. Everybody eats somebody else.

If I make a bad plant choice, I pick B. "Native wisdom" whittles down bad choices, but I still succumb at times. So, "blame me."

I only use A if I really have nothing else to do, which is almost never. And I hate to get up at dawn to spray things, even my hair.

If I'm going to brew something with garlic, it's for me. The dog gets Dr. Bronner soap. But a good recipe to hang onto, if I change my mind.
