LIKE WATER FOR IDIOTS
Below is a link to my story from this Saturday’s Austin American Statesman. It includes an unconscionably ham-bone picture of me, but I was able to rant about watering, finally.

Has this position been filled? I think I’m uniquely qualified. My favorite adult playdates involve me not having to talk. If I can dork out on my iPhone, even better.

I appreciate any articles on water and uaing it wisely. I am an ultra water mizer.
My watering system has seen many changes but what I have now is the best for me. I use 1/2″ PVC with 1/8″ holes drilled in it coming off my 5000 gal. rain water collection system with no pressure pump. The water dribbles out to saturate a 3′x8′ bed in about 15 minutes and about 20 gal. of water used. Almost a gallon per cubic foot.
This summer as with some others I still ran out of water and it’s back to hand watering off the well.
